Workshop Training
Every year, Musikgarten New Mexico offers different teacher training workshops in Gallup, New Mexico. Attending all of the courses offered that year and receiving your certification are pre-requisites to working with us.

Why come to a workshop?
  • Musikgarten training helps you develop a greater understanding of children’s developmental needs and the significant impact of music education.
  • We specifically hold workshops to train new teachers and refresh the skills of current teachers.
  • At your workshop, you will interact with the leading authorities in early childhood music education on a peer and/or student level, as well as meet current and prospective Musikgarten New Mexico teachers.
  • Explore the characteristics and developmental needs of young children.
  • Learn basic principles of teaching music and movement.
  • Work with developmentally appropriate materials in the areas of singing, moving, listening, playing instruments and writing/reading music.
  • Observe and discuss daily demonstration classes.
  • Practice teaching techniques with workshop peers.
  • Participate in appropriate lesson planning for music and movement activities in various settings.
  • Learn how to involve families in classes, ensuring that music becomes a part of home and family life.
Fall Training for 2005

Cycle of Seasons (CYC) 15 Hours
Build on the three to five year old child’s growing independence and increased competencies with activities focused on the seasons of the year. Participate actively in learning songs, listening and movement activities, and stories that build on the young child’s need for language and creative expression.
